In this section we hope to include some "aide-mémoires" from fellow dyslexics.
If you have any tips please pass them on so that we can all benefit from them. Send your tips to tips@dyslexiamatters.co.uk

What can I do to help as a parent?
- Come along to our talks: list of events
- Approach your child's class teacher.
- Consider getting your child independently assessed. This costs approximately £300 but will give you independent evidence of your child's needs.
- If you feel able, consider going on one of the nationally accredited training courses to learn how to teach children with dyslexia.
- Consider paying for private tuition or a school change.
- Volunteer your help and get involved in lobbying.
Remember it is your right as a parent to ensure that your child's needs are satisfied. The fact that another child's needs are greater is not relevent to your child.
