What can I do to help as a parent?

  1. Come along to our talks: list of events
  2. Approach your child's class teacher.
  3. Consider getting your child independently assessed. This costs approximately £300 but will give you independent evidence of your child's needs.
  4. If you feel able, consider going on one of the nationally accredited training courses to learn how to teach children with dyslexia.
  5. Consider paying for private tuition or a school change.
  6. Volunteer your help and get involved in lobbying.

Remember it is your right as a parent to ensure that your child's needs are satisfied. The fact that another child's needs are greater is not relevent to your child.
